Alex Rivera is the co-founder and executive director of BuildWithAI Summit, which he started after attending three major AI conferences in 2024 and leaving each one without a single idea he could use the following Monday. Previously, he led developer relations at a Series B AI startup and has spoken at over a dozen technology events across the US and Europe.
His work at BuildWithAI Summit centers on one question: what does a conference look like when it's designed entirely around the people doing the actual building? Every programming decision, speaker selection, and format choice runs through that filter. The result is an event where the hallway conversations are as structured as the sessions.
Across both days of the summit, Alex opens and closes the program — welcoming attendees in, reflecting on what surfaces between sessions, and sending everyone home with something worth acting on. His goal is to be the least interesting person on the stage.
